See if you can catch yourself complaining, in either speech or thought, about a situation you find yourself in, what other people do or say, your surroundings, your life situation, even the weather. To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself into a victim. When you speak out, you are in your power. So change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible; leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.

Do you speak Internet?
I noticed this morning on a Facebook conversation thread people using the @ symbol as a means to reply to a specific person within the conversation. This language was developed (I believe) by Twitter. It’s interesting to see how this language is spreading and becoming a standard for communicating online.

Let’s just do something ‘viral’

I feel people flippantly suggest brands do something ‘viral’, without fully understanding what it means.

Here’s a couple of my favourite quotes that deal with the term nicely:

“We have a company rule: whenever you feel the urge to say ‘viral’ replace it with ‘fun’.” - Barbarian Group

“True Viral campaigns are not something advertisers create; consumers create them by deciding something is meaningful enough to forward on” - ANA Social Media Forum

3 reasons to ditch your microsites

As I continue to see disconnected microsites being built outside a brand’s main web presence, I think of this article.
